Tapping Inverter Output Circuit?

Do you all see any issue with tapping the inverter output circuit to get a voltage reference for a revenue grade meter?

I have come across a few situations recently where a single inverter is interconnecting with a larger distribution panel and there is no panelboard to plug in a small breaker to get a voltage reference for a revenue grade meter (Wattnode, eGauge, etc). What I would like to do is tap the conductors in between the inverter and the AC disconnect located next to it. The meter would be protected by 15A inline fuses, and disconnect would serve as both an inverter and fuse servicing disconnect. Do you see any Code issues with this setup?

Thanks

I think it's fine, but I could see an AHJ making an issue out of 705.12(B)(1). [705.12(D)(1) in codes prior to 2017]

In the worst case, you replace the j-box where you make the tap with the smallest subpanel you can find.
