SSRs inside panel?

A friend gave me an 11kw standby generator for my wife's business. It only works if I turn off a lot branch circuits, and some of them might just want an SSR (Solid State Relay) on the branch circuit. Is it okay to install an SSR inside the breaker panel, assuming it's nice and tidy?

Depends on a number of details. SSRs, unlike regular relays, give off heat, about 1-1/2W per amp of current flow per pole. So if these are simple little 1A circuits, there's nothing to get excited about. But if they are 30A circuits, it is. Lots of other factors too, not just that.

It also depends on what the control circuits are. If they are line voltage, most likely no problems.
It the control circuits are Class 2, then the panel enclosure may not provide the needed separation.
Maybe add some partitions?
