What is the proper name of these? Looking to install a device above ceiling to allow raising and lowering of light fixture for cleaning. Bulb change. I have seen a couple of thes in 26 years but never purchased one. It is for my own home. I would be open to one that includes fixture or one without.
I have my supplier checking but possibly I can find one cheaper online.
thanks

Yes but looking for non electric for cost savings.. maybe a ring on the bottom of fixture to hook with a stick
Generally other than the chandelier systems like hbiss posted, the non-powered versions are part of the fixture. The old fashioned ones that retracted the cord and hid it in a ball had very limited distance, i.e. 18" max I think. Any more than that and you have to start thinking about what to do with the cord. Do you already have the fixture? If so, worst case is that you could buy one of these and toss the butt ugly fixture from it.
