I have a gas fired pool heater and an ionization unit to hook up.

I know the pump motor requires GFCI protection and from what I can see the other two items do not.

Both items mentioned come from the manufacturer with a cord.

Neither have a male cord end, just conductors.

Am I correct ?

Thanks

The gas fired pool heater needs gfci in the 2017 nec if it is powered above the low voltage limit

680.28 Gas-Fired Water Heater. Circuits serving gas-fired
swimming pool and spa water heaters operating at voltages
above the low-voltage contact limit shall be provided with
ground-fault circuit-interrupter protection for personnel.

In the 2017 code hydraulic pumps for auto covers have to be gfci protected too. I’m not a big fan of the many gfci additions to the new 2017 code.
