Hello,

I was trying to see if there is any code in NFPA 70 or IBC or IFC where it says what needs to be enunciated at fire alarm annunciator panel. Also what needs to be shown on the graphic annunciation panel?

If anyone has some code references that would be off great help.

Depending on the Group or Building Type, different thing have to be "activated at a constantly attended location". You would also need to annuciate supervisory and trouble conditions.

For example, you can go to Chapter 9 of the IBC and search for "constantly attended location" and find (12) instances.

NFPA 72 says visible annunciation of the location of an operated initiating device shall be by an indicator lamp, alphanumeric display, printout, or other approved means. Not many use the graphics anymore due to cost. The graphic annunicators are just local AHJ's, no national code require that I'm aware of, so most use alphanumeric.

As Ron says, graphic displays have gone away for the most part. Almost any manufacturer's standard offering for their addressable panels will duplicate the message displayed on the main fire alarm panel at the remote annunciator and also mirror the condition as alarm, supervisory, or trouble. This is usually sufficient for most AHJ's.
