Do you guys know if there are any distance requirements for the generator from the building?

It is a 100KW single phase natural gas generator. The building type is R-2 residential.

Thank You

The places I've seen this portion regulated the most are the local ordinances; and most of them say, "do not locate within 'x' ft from the property line." There is normally no mention as to how close it can be located to the building, but how close it can be to the property line.

Usually, the distance to a building is concerned with exhaust gasses and windows and/or air intakes.

Several years ago, when it came up on a residential genny install I did, the manufacturer's instructions said "according to local codes" while the local codes said "according to manufacturer's instructions."

So, I located it about a foot from the house, but more than 10 feet from the nearest operable window.

Usually the generator manufacturer will specify how far from a combustible surface it must be. I think that Generac requires 5'.
