Hey guys, My buddy called me and wanted to know if a panel with breakers in it was legal in a store, not the main, it's a main lug only panel. All I could find was it's not allowed in dwellings, hotels, motels and no mains are allowed in any bathroom no matter what type of occupancy. 240.24E and 230.70A(2) but I am citing that from an old 2005 NEC. Just askin you guys if there was any changes to that because I cant find my newer book just yet. I think so long as it's not the service disconnect it's allowed. Jim

No changes in 2008. No change to 230.70(A)(2) in 2011. The 2011 made a couple minor changes to 240.24(E), but they would not impact a store.
