Well, either my memory is shot or Google fails me ... but back in the late 70s or early 80s, we used the "Intelligent Industrial Relay", marked I(superscript 2)R. I don't remember the supplier but Sylvania (they had an industrial line, affiliated with Joslyn Clark) sticks in my mind.
Sylvania / Clark? Electronics? I didn't think they survived long enough to get that far. Joslyn bought the entire Clark Controls line from Siemens when they bought Sylvania 30+ years ago, they didn't put dollar one into product R&D for that line and they certainly have nothing electronic in their product line now.

Could it have been Texas Instruments maybe? The Siemens LOGO was actually a product that came out of the old TI Industrial Products Group (TI PLCs) in Johnson City TN when Siemens bought them in 1991, maybe you saw a precursor to what eventually became the LOGO.
