Would like to know if anyone else has been having SD Homeline dual breakers tripping because the power company is having problems on their lines. They were having issues with a cap. bank going bad. When two customers are on a rural feeder 5 miles apart, their breakers were tripping out simultaneously.Talked to SD rep.they said to replace with a standard breaker if it continues.

That Square D rep at the very least needs retraining, at the worst, being fired. That is absolutely horrible advice from a liability standpoint.

What is the age of the combination breakers? The newest generation of breakers may be less sensitive to line side interference like ham radio and power quality factors.

While yanking out arc fault breakers and hearing them bounce off the bottom of a 40-yard dumpster may be in many of our dreams, you are going to be sued into oblivion if somebody at that property is electrocuted or dies in a fire of electrical origin.
