i've got a number of conduits.... that are not on the buildings asbuilts.
my job is to locate them.. mostly 3/4" flex, from j boxes in hard lids,
going god knows where... you can shove in 120' of fish tape, and not
be able to find anything....
has anyone used any kind of locator that can be shoved in on the end
of a fish tape, that can be picked up by a detector? like a sonde for
underground pipe locating, but small enough to be used in a 3/4" flex?
i can't blow air thru them... the flex dissipates it too much to be detectable.
first flex that i fished, ended up at a 4sd box above a hard lid, 20'
from the access door, behind a AC duct. and shoving 120' to 150'
of 3/4" flex with a tape, even a stainless steel one, is proving difficult.
you can't rattle the tape in the pipe and hear anything well enough to
locate it by sound.....
help.....
