7 6 NEC Voltage Drop Recommendations
I keep seeing comments, in the clip and elsewhere, that talk about inductive loads taking more current at a lower voltage.
What is really happening is that constant power loads, whether they are motors or equipment power supplies or VFDs, take more current as the supplied voltage goes down.
Those loads will not be ohmic. They may or may not be resistive in terms of their complex impedance, but some will be inductive, some capacitive and some will have a displacement power factor arbitrarily close to 1.
Don't forget the voltage drop requirements in the energy code. Requirement ... not an informational note.
