We have several cabinets in a new computer room. The TMGB looks to be fed with 2/0. How do I know what size equipment ground to run from the cabinets to the TMGB? The cabinet furtherest away from the TMGB is 25 or 30 feet.

There is really no right answer here. The IT people will tell you they want 2/0 but have no idea why. In reality any rack with power in it should already be bonded through the means supplying the power. Anything without power (like just patch panels) really doesn't need a ground but should be. Unless otherwise spec'd I would just pick a number out of a hat and that came up #4s.

Somebody will probably be along shortly to tell us what BICSI has to say about it.

Some engineer probably spec'd it from some BICSI boiler plate along with 1-1/4" conduit with no more than two 90deg bends between pull boxes for one run of CAT5e.:?

But really, if you want to know (or be totally confused) contact the engineer that designed the room to begin with.
