Noticed this in the pain center at a local hospital yesterday.

No way to know what is above the drop ceiling.

Nothing wrong with anything visible in the picture, what is above ceiling could be a different issue though. Depending where it is located that may need to be a hospital grade receptacle.

I see it being OK, as long as the box is properly supported with listed wiring method.

Is this a patient care area?

I assume you were there working on their system vs them working on your pain?

If they use a T-bar hanger and a 1900 box and appropriate wiring methods, should be all good.
T-bar hanger is just one of hundreds of possible ways to do it, but may be one of the quickest or simplest ways to do it. If supply house is 50 miles away and I don't have a T-bar hanger and need to get it done right now - I'll find some other way to securely mount it.:happyyes:
