Parrallel Feeders

I have a question about parrallel feeders. One of the electrical contractors on the job is running a 4" conduit, 300 feet to feed a 400amp 480volt, 3phase panel board. In the conduit he is pulling 9 - 4/0 THHN wires. I cant find a code that says that is legal to do. I have always been tough to run multiple conduits for paralleled feeders. Can someone please tell me where to find this in the code and if this is acceptable.

Thank you,

Robert

You can put as many as you want, as long as the conduit fill is less than 40%. Then you have to account for more than 3 current carrying conductors in the pipe (derate the conductors), and be sure it still has enough ampacity for the application.

I assume that is 3 sets of 4/0 for your three phase conductors A,B&C.
What is run for the required feeder grounding conductor?
Also, I assume you have no neutral loads on the panel since you have no neutral (grounded) feeder conductors.
The neutral is not required if you have only 480v 3 phase loads but the grounding conductors are required.

Also even if the raceway contained an EGC it wouldn't have any bearing on derating.
