    PPE

    if the incident level is 3.8 cal/cm2 after calculation. is HRC 2 is only required?

    HRC1 clothing would be sufficient. I think they are getting their info from NFPA 70E.

    2015 NFPA 70E has clarified: hazard risk categories shall not be used with incident energy method (130.5(C)).

    If you were provided a calculated 3.8, see 70E Annex H: Table H.3(b)  Guidance on Selection of Arc-Rated Clothing and Other PPE for Use When Incident Energy Exposure Is Determined.
