    On a non-flammable surface, you are allowed 1/4" setback, and if you've more than that, the plastic ring I linked will bring it up to code.

    I thought it's 1/8".

    See 314.20. You are allowed 1/4" setback when the wall surface isnt flammable.

    314.21 says the gap around the box can only be 1/8".
