It states Where high-intensity discharge lighting such as high- and lowpressure sodium, mercury vapor, and metal halide is used as the sole source of normal illumination, the emergency lighting system shall be required to operate until normal lluminationhas been restored.

With is this type of lighting. Why is it that the emergency lighting system shall be required to operate until normal llumination
has been restored?

Because those types of fixtures, do not provide "instant" light when the normal power has been restored. It can be a number of minutes before those types of fixtures provide light after the normal power has been restored.

So if the e lights are only on by battery back up, it wouldn't be compliant? Because they would shut off when the circuit came back on. So what's the method to get the task done
