So, if there is NOT a metallic patch between a manufactured house (building 1) and the garage/shop (building 2 - metal siding) I have to keep neutral and ground bonded at this sub-panel. Right? Mandatory? (don't like it)

IMO, with feeder from building one to building two you need to keep the GroundING (green wire) and the GrounDED (white wire) separate at the remote building.

That is how I like, but I found this in NEC 2014 (I think they have in others years too)

Look closely at the illustration. From building 1 to building 2 is an existing feed and was code legal in the past. Current code is what you want, like the one pictured from building 2 to 3.
