I wouldn't think so.

It is not an area listed in 210.52(A)

Pete

No.
Only the rooms and spaces noted in 210.52(A)

I was pretty sure it wouldn't but a customer gave me a set of prints with receptacles shown in the closet. I asked if they just wanted them or what. They said they thought they were required. Made me "re-think" myself!

Although receptacle outlets are not required in a closet if they are installed AFCI protection IS required.

Because usually its the other way around ,,,,get a set of drawings that falls short of code and they say they didnt think it was code.

Did a house one time that had such a big closet, that to a man we all thought it was a room, including the inspector. Plans didn't show any receptacles in it and we couldn't figure out why.:happyyes:
