A few months ago my supply house stopped selling the nice romex - you know, the thin stuff that's super slick and pulls without problems. Now they carry romex that's like from 1988 or something - 14/2 that's as thick as modern 12/2 and I swear it has a special, non-slip surface on it. So I'm using up the last of a roll of this 14/2 NM today and I finally read what's printed on the jacket...

The slick stuff is probably from Southwire called simpull-- nice stuff- I guess the supplier got a better deal
Our Type NM-B has a coating of "Super Slick" on it to aid pulling...to be honest with you I have no idea what this label denotes since I can't see "ALL" of the markings.

I think it has something to do with what plant it was made at. I often see Southwire with markings like "Florence" "Addison" "Pierson" ect on their romex, so I am guessing its some type of marking/tracking technique.
