For sure the transition area is problematic.

But many of us do live in areas with high PH. My guess is you are just outside that area.

Sorry I can't seem to read the legend on the map, tried to enlarge and it is not high enough resolution and is blurry so can't tell just what it means.

Yeah, sorry that is a poor image.

But basically the darker the color the more acidic the soil conditions are.

Well I live near the eastern edge of that really light area in middle of the map. Does that light color represent low acid, neutral, or even alkaline side of neutral? High alkaline is corrosive as well.
