    GEC bonding to enclosure

    When a GEC, water bond, ect enters an enclosure, is it required to be bonded at the point of entry?
    I'm in over my head...

    What exactly is this "enclosure" you speak of? 250.64(E)(1) requires it, however I am not sure the intent is to require bonding the a cabinet as it enters. I think there was another thread on this very recently.

    A common scenario is a GEC that enters a panelboard or meter can via the 1/4" hole supplied by the manufacturer. The GEC is bare, or it is enclosed in PVC and the PVC is butted up to the meter can without a connector. This is an extremely common installation in my area, one I have done myself many times. Some say a free air GEC must be bonded to the enclosure via a "kenny clamp" device. I say no such rule or requirement exists.

    Forgetting what we think the NEC requires tell us why based on your engineering skills there may be a choke on a GEC through the bottom of an enclosure (maybe an 1/8") and the actual choke (or maybe Lenz law effect) of the same GEC through a ferrous metal "tube".

    Meter can, main disconnect, electrical load center- the usual.

    I take the enclosure in 250.64(E) to be a enclosure specifically for the GEC, not a more general enclosure like a cabinet, meter can, etc.

    Not just the GEC- but all other parts. Breakers, jaws, ect.

    NOPE

    No matter the enclosure, if there are no splices in the box the GEC can pass through. It can be simply a pull point. Just my experience
