    Short answer "yes".
In "real life" Ive the the answer vary by AHJ and by distance how close the two are.
"Nowhere near" will likely mean disconnect at both
At my age, I'm accustomed to restaurants asking me to pay in advance, but now my bank has started sending me their calendar one month at a time.

For services over 300 V PH-PH our POCO requires a disconnect ahead of the meter, I typically use a non fused disconnect if the short circuit current is <10,000 Amps.
Then on the load side we install a fused disconnect, this is service disconnect.

What is the rule that would require a disconnect at both locations?

Edit: actually 230 would apply to one, 225 for the second.
