Is it legal to use 3/4" emt strut straps to support mc cable? A bundle of three 12-2 mc's in one strap running vertically right before panel?

Thanks

This would probably fly in most places here in Missouri but we are 49th in the country for the industry so not sure that helps. It feels a bit janky but I do not see any language that forbids it specifically.

330.30 Securing and Supporting
(A) General. Type MC cable s hall be supported and secured
by staples, cable ties, straps, hangers, or similar fittings or other

cable.

If you can find strut straps that are not labeled TW, HW, EMT, RMC, etc... you shouldn't have a problem.

Do you have to use listed holes in framing members when the framing member is the only support method?

I agree the inspector still needs to approve, but some can get pretty narrow minded at times. That is when they need an attitude adjustment.

Appropriate sized saddle clamp to fit their neck (probably going to have to be a 6 inch conduit clamp, but go ahead and try to force them into 3 inch first) and tighten it down should get the job done in this case:D
