Let me double check—just because. Ok, so if I have an available CEE (Ufer), and my Main Service Entrance conductors total kcmil are 423k. I am allowed to run only a #4cu? I find this interesting! Does this have something to do with the amount a current it may carry?

CEE never needs more then a 4 AWG.

A ground rod never needs more then a 6 AWG.

Larger conductors are not prohibited though, just not necessary.

I think someone figured a rod can not dissipate any more energy then a 6 AWG can deliver to it, same with the CEE and 4 AWG.
