    1/2" ground rods

Since Code requires two 5/8" copper ground rods for each new service, why does the Home Depot even carry 1/2" ground rods? You'd be surprised at all non-Code compliant items that Home Depot sells. What are 1/2" rods used for if not for service grounding electrodes?

Are they listed and stamped? Reread 250.52(5)(b). Copper rods are never required.

Telco and cable grounding? Not that that's the proper way to do it, but still...

Auxiliary and communication rods are not required to meet code min standard as long as they are properly tied to GES for the building. See 800.100 and 250.54.

I guess I’ve never seen an unlisted rod. Even the 5/8.

Never pulled one up to measure it.

i did see a bundle of short ones designated for a company that sells portable lighting systems, but nothing else that I remember.
