I'm preparing to take my texas masters exam,I've read mike holts exam prep book and took a local course.the problem i'm having is that the course instructor says if asked a question about ampacity for sizing wire if were given the insulation type like thwn then use that columb regardless if its less than 100 amps or not if the terminal rating isn'
t specified holt's book and the nec say use the 60 degree columb if it's less than 100 amps and the terminals aren't specified????????

Relax for now

Relax for now

I took mine twice but I passed the second time.As long as you know the code book good. The calculation on my test was not too hard. If you see that the calcuation is going to take alot of your time skip it and go on. When you start act like your out of time to begin with. You need to have some time on the end of the test for the questions on the plans. The plans suck some of the worst I have ever seen. The questions on the plans aren't hard you just need the time to figure the plans out. Good Luck
