Here's a poll I haven't seen here:

Which edition of the NEC are you currently working under?

I have reason to ask.... it concerns licensing issues in my state.

Glad we got that straighened out!!! Thanks, roger!

As a design engineer, I have clients in more than one jurisdiction. So I find myself opening, from time to time, the 2008, 2005, 2002, and several local and state amendments.

The state is the 2008, but each city are a jurisdiction unto themselves. The ones that I work in are in the 2005 or 2002. Most jurisdictions will be in the 2008 soon.

In New York state: RCNYS and 2002 NEC for 1 and 2 family dwellings and townhouses and their associated buildings and structures. 2005 NEC for multiple dwellings and all other buildings and structures.

Indiana is 2005
Next code cycle amendments are available for review but it looks like late this year before adoption of 2008

Um, our state laws supercede all municipal laws. How do your cities get authority to ignore the state?
