Actually, this statement is more true than you think. The GFCI range is truly 4-6 ma and that may be lethal to children, small adults, older adults, and people with some medical problems. Also, the full amount of fault current will be felt until the GFCI device actually opens the circuit. For the healthy adult, they will be able to walk away and spout some expletives. For someone that is a member of the previous list, they may not be able to walk or continue to live without an intermediary. :)
