current from a generator

Concerning formula manipulation and interpreting results:



When I get 370 A as the result of dividing 250 kVA by (390 V x 1.73), is that the current that I should expect to measure on each individual phase conductor? :-?

a 3 phase 250 kva generator with a 390 volt output would be 370 amps per phase. 390 volt ??? where

While we don't say current "per phase," 370a from a supply is the same thing as 370a "per phase."

A given current on one conductor is that much current. We get more power at a given current by having a higher voltage, more phases, or both.

Remember that current is a function of voltage and impedance. The voltage is a constant; the current varies inversely with the impedance.
