Hi All,

I have observed installations where 3C + ground power cables are being spliced above ground using junction boxes. The junction boxes are grounded by way of ground connections to an existing ground system. The wires inside the box are terminated using terminal strips including the ground conductor. Can someone here tell me if a ground strap is required between the box ground and the cable ground?

Kind regards ....... FLH59

Article 250.148 requires a connection to the box for each circuit in the box if terminated or spliced. It does not require all the individual equipment grounds to be all joined together though.

Isolated grounding conductors are an exception.
