I have to install some roof deicing and was wondering if anyone has any experence with Easy Heat vs Raychem?

I have a roof that is 24' long with a 20' downspout on each side of the house.

I got a quote from my supply house for the Raychem cable and GFI controler for about $1,600.

I know the Easy heat is much less costly, but it is only available in fixed lengths. The Raychem can be cut to length.

I know Raychem is a quality product and will last for years.
What about Easy Heat. Is it just cheap crap?

I install the ez heat parallel resistance self regulating cable and it holds up well.I would stay away from any of the fixed length series resistance, constant wattage cables that are offered.

No comparison. Raychem is a much higher quality cable that uses a powerful self regulating heat design. As I understand it, if the other brand "Easy Heat" is crossed over itself one time, it can/will burn out because it lacks this heat regulating design. Comparing Porche's to Pinto's
