I Need A Better Understanding Of 680-42b Exception

Q: Can A Outside Portable Self Contained Spa Use A Bonding Grid
Made From Bonding All Motors Pumps & Equip Inside Spa
And Connect Bond To Area Metalic Objects Like Gutters And
Faucets And Just Float Or Must It Be Bonded To The Disc Or
To The Service.

I'm not sure I understand the qustion ,but this section does not relieve any of the bonding requirements it gives us permission to use equipment mounted on a common metallic skid or frame, to act as the means for bonding.
680.26 would require a separate bonding conductor to be installed for bonding .

thanks for the last reply

I take it as you would still need an equipotential bonding grid installed
bummer
I made a big mistake & poured the concrete
is there any safe way of creating an equivelent grid short of tearing out
the concrete

The grid only needs to be under the paved walking surface if the hot tub is constructed of non conductive material , it does not need to extend under the tub itself

680.40 General.

Electrical installations at spas and hot tubs shall comply with the provisions of Part I and Part IV of this artical. Equipotential bonding is in Part II therefore bonding grid is not required for portabel spa. IMHO.
