I am trying to find out if type AC cable is listed for passing thru fire rated walls
I have searched articles 300.21 for fire spread and 320 for type AC cable.
I noticed that 320 reference UL listing 1685 for AC cable as being listed as low smoke and flame spread.
where can I can information on wiring methods listed for fire rated wall floors etc?

am I correct in reading article 320 as type AC cable is listed for use as an approved wiring method for article 517 Patient rooms.

Thanks.

The wiring method itself does not have to be listed with a fire rating for it to penetrate a fire rated wall. The penetration would have to be sealed using a listed fire rated penetration material.

Yes AC cable can be used in a patient care area provided that it meet 517.13(B) and also contain an insulated copper EGC. This type of cable is commonly refered to as HFC Cable.
