Panelboard VS loadcenter

The existing wall is 4'', I would need a 6" wall for the panelboard.

Mostly the fact that most panelboards are 20" wide and loadcenters are normally 14" wide. If we're talking about plug-on, the interiors are pretty much identical nowadays anyhow.

Ahh, that's just a myth.

For instance, you can get several SqD panelboard series in 20", 14" and column width (8-1/2").

But the depth is another matter.
