proper installation to outside condensing unit

I recently found an interesting electrical issue to correct. (See attached photo) The circuit is to an exterior 3 ph AC unit (condensing unit). Proper manufacturer's required fusing is 100amps which is provided at the unit. The source supply is from a 200amp 3 pole fused at 175amp with 1/0 THHN copper wire. The 1/0 wire split bolt taps inside the LB condulet to #3 copper wire which then feeds to the AC unit disconnect. AMAZING!
My question is- Can I replace the LB with a properly sized junction box; split bolt 1/0 copper wire in the junction box and route to the supply side of the AC unit disconnect and then provide #3 copper wire to the load side of the AC unit disconnect?
