P = V * ( V / R ) = V2 / R

Is P = V * ( V / R ) the same as V2 / R ? Why? And if not which is correct? .....................................

The only problem is that on this Forum it is not possible to render subscripts and superscripts. Hence the very ambiguous V2 to represent V squared (V * V).
Other notation conventions are V^2 and V**2 for V squared. Some places even use Vexp2.
