Conduit on fence?

I have a project they are wanting to mount the conduit to the fence.. Per NEC can exterior conduit pvc or rigid steel be supported by a fence structural alone?

Is it Secure ? ... Chain Link kind of flimsy.

I don’t see a problem with it. That obviously depends on a judgement call of how sturdy the fence is.

For me, strapping conduit to a cyclone fence isn't it.

If the fence has a rigid frame along the top, I have bolted Minerallac straps back to back and used that as support in the past. I agree that it doesn't look as nice as using PVC underground and emerging from grade where the conduit terminates.

Point is, there are many different types of fences.

Wood, metal, plastic, silt, tall, short, fancy, dilapidated, solid, perforated, etc....

As far as running conduit on it, if it meets the requirements for support and fastening there is no reason it cant be used.

To speculate on a hard, yes, no, green tag or red tag would be impossible without actually seeing the fence in question, and, how the conduit was actually ran on it.

2. Install the job in a professional and workmanlike manner.

I've seen beautiful fences destroyed by crappy pipe runs.

It seems the code allows pipe runs to be installed on fences.

Some people only need and want a KIA others want to spend money and want a Cadillac
