Yes. 1-1/4" nipple with the MAs butted together. Is that PVC between them?
Dominion Power provides meter bases free, so yes. Panel = $135.00On the west coast we use combination panels. On the east coast they use separate panels ?
Depends on the poco here, Ga. Power will give you a free meterbase if you have the customers name and address to where it goes, but the EMC sells them, they did require the Milbank brand, but somebody sued them, so the judge said they have to give them for free if they specifically asked for a certain brand.Dominion Power provides meter bases free, so yes. So, it is all about price ?
I don't know about Larry's situation, but POCOs around here that provide the meter base will only connect what they supply. And I don't know of any that provide meter mains or combos. What would happen if you installed a combination ?

Evergy is the only one here that does not provide meter bases. Their approved list doesn't include combos (that I know of), but I know they'll connect some.
Down south, they are used frequently. That is what I found strange ... I have been following this forum since 2003. I have never seen combinations services on the East Coast.

I have installed a few combos. Partly depends on what supplier has in stock, partly price, partly how much space available on the wall. That is what I found strange ... I have been following this forum since 2003. I have never seen combinations services on the East Coast.
What's wrong with that? What's the advantage of a combo? So, it is all about price ?
Why?Combinations services seems to me to be a much better alternative.
If available space is the reason, I'll put the panel under the meter, which is common here.I have installed a few combos. Partly depends on what supplier has in stock, partly price, partly how much space available on the wall.
Nice to be productive. This afternoon's project: installed a new house panel and meter for an apartment building. Grounding is next.
