finding historical catastrophic events regarding sel relay operation or 34.5kv feeder breaker faults

building a comprehensive procedure with notes why step of procedure is recommended.
task led to my recommendation of confirmation of feeder breaker relay operation to be validated prior the replacement of 100 34.5kv pad transformers within solar power plant but NuConsult shot down that requirement but feeling safety should include the unexpected.

how can I find historical evidence where failure to run down evidence of other 34.5 kv electrical work compounded to unexpected injury and equipment damage?

The SEL relays can provide event reports of virtually all relay operations -- IF it is configured to do so. The event record will tell you that a ground fault occurred, for example, the magnitude of the fault current, and the duration. It won't tell you what caused the fault, the exact location or what the damage was. It will tell you the data and time, BUT this isn't reliable unless there is a GPS clock in the system - the clock is not provided in the relay so the time will eventually not be very accurate.

Also, the relay will only store a certain number of the most recent events - older ones get pushed out. Assuming someone hasn't already erased the events.
