In rural enviroments where I'm from it's common to see the metersocket and disconnect switch located outside of the dwelling. At the metersocket the utility company usually drives a ground rod and bonds the neutral conductor. My question pertains to the service entrance conductors going from Disconnect to inside the house. Would I need to run a grounding conductor to my panel as well? What I think is right is, if I have a main disconnect outside that is bonded you would be required to run a grounding conductor and of course not bond in your house panel. I've seen it done so many ways with and without using a grounding conductor that i've lost track. thanks

You are correct, after the Main all wiring downstream needs an Equipment Grounding Conductor.
