I don't have Mark's contact info but I am sure this statistic would not have been published without substantiation. I agree that most are above 40 Ohms.

Mark Shapiro left us around 2013. There was a memorial to him a few years back on the IAEI site, http://iaei-michigan.org/program/ and a building dedicated in his name. He was a very prolific contributor on the code making panels as well as the IAEI organization. One of the best code instructors you could ever want to have, he lived it. I was taking his classes just about the time Mike Holt was getting started in the education business.

The locals here feared him, cause he was an inspector that carried a tool bag. But he was similar to this forum back then, a wealth of knowledge and loved to share it.

Another good trade resource. https://iaeimagazine.org/magazine/

Thank you very much for sharing this info. I purchased two sets of his NEC cassettes.
You’re right - he was extraordinary

Exactly - those are some of the "whatever reasons". I never run into that requirement though. Though equipotential grid isn't the same thing as a grounding electrode The two ordinarily are bonded to one another.

Finally we agree on something
