Grounding to Rod

Curious of a few things. Inside a building with slab already poured

Can EMT be used from panel to ground rod or is it code to use RGS?
Would obviously have to penetrate slab to sink ground rod?
Would 1/2" conduit run right to ground row with no exposed wiring showing?

Technically no raceway is required if not subject to physical damage but we always use EMT for aesthetic reasons. Imagine what this would look like of all of the GEC's were run free air.

Just don't forget that you have to bond the GEC to the EMT at both ends unless you are using aluminum EMT.

Yes, a combination of 4-4000 amp services, common grounding risers, and multiple step up transformers within the service room.
