i have a question on bonding
here in boston
we are building these high rise apartment using romex, and a varitiy of different boxes
metal and plasic
plasic ones desighed for wood construction and 1/2 inch sheetrock
were using 5/8 sheet rock and sometimes double 5/8
so the single and two gang boxes that are blue and ajustable are great for getting the right dept ajustment
as long as you can fit them to the dept of the metal stud that is being used
if not you get into a grey non ajustable romex bang on box for wood constuction for 1/2 inch sheetrock
the bracket can be flipped over and be made for 1 inch sheetrock
but it can be modified futher by drilling the bracket and nut/bolting it
now my question
does this bolt on the inside of the plastic box that is mounted to a metal stud need to be bonded
its a metal mounting bracket
also we use a round plastic blue box in the ceiling with a metal hanger that is supported by metal screws
the screws are in the box and are not bonded
the ceiling is chichago still metal ceiling frame
why arent the screws bonde
and should they be

Is this modification listed in the instructions of box installation? If not, you’ve created you own problem. The box may no longer be listed for use. So the question of the bolt may be mute.
