load calculation for houses

It seems to me there would be a square footage scale to use for load calculation for houses. I know the type of heat changes it, but for an all electric home, it looks like there would be a chart of square footage when we go from 200 amp to 400 amp service. Rather than going through the calculations.
Is there ? My experience has been when a house is 3000 sq ft, I go to 400 amp service (around here it is actually only 320 amp). Any suggestions ?

Not that I’m aware of. Just did a 5k sq ft house with a 225A service. And I’ve done 2k sq ft houses with a 400A service. There is an excel based load Calc spreadsheet on mikeholt.com that is handy.
