If wire is marked as MTW and TFF, am I limited by the TFF or can I use it in any application that could use MTW?

For example, I have one 14AWG wire that is MTW/THW, and a 16AWG wire that is MTW/TFF. Do I have to take these ratings individually, or do they work as a combination rating?

You can use a combination rated wire (or cable) wherever one of the type codes is [part of] an acceptable wiring method. Specific requirements must follow the type under which it is used. If more than one type is acceptable, you typically use the one which offers an advantage over the other(s).
