Is 150kw gas type generator good for 75 HP fire pump?
208v,3p system.
The FLA for the fire pump is 211A, and the starting current is around 560A.
I know it is a little bit too small for it.
what else can do if the fire pump would not start except replacing the generator?

Check with the generator supplier to see if they will be able to tell you what size generator would be required based on the fire pump details (hp, starter type, etc.). Perhaps the generator is already installed, but they might still be willing to assist. Also, watch out for the max 15% voltage drop under motor-starting conditions - that has a tendency to increase the size of the generator as well.

We recently installed a 60kW generator on a project that included a 25hp fire-pump with a solid state starter. However, the fire-pump guys originally wanted to use the same 25hp motor with a wye-delta starter instead - and the generator supplier said it would need to be 200kW if that was the case - so they switched to the solid state.
