Hey guys,
I’m new to this forum- I’m currently working on getting a new air compressor installed. So it’s a 480 VAC 3 phase VFD compressor. Full package amps are listed at 269 A.
There will be 2 of these compressors(one is a back up and I don’t foresee running them at the same time). A single air dryer at 60 amps as well. Add a 100 amp sub panel(480 to 208 vac 3 phase).
I have an available 1,000 amp switch on my 3,000 amp main service:
Will an 800 amp panel suffice for the compressors, etc?
70-100’ wire run. Is parallel 4” emt ok?
And is that 500 mcm wires?
I’ve read about sizing errors on the forums and they’re costly. Just trying to avoid that as I review bids.
Thanks,
bri

You are asking questions that should be asked by the electrician who will be performing the installation. We are not allowed, by forum rules, to provide the kind of assistance you are seeking to a person who is not an electrician. So for the moment, at least, I am closing this thread.
