Ckt. Breaker or Fused Disc. Switch?

How would you decide whether to install a main fused disc. switch or a main circuit breaker if the available fault current is not an issue?


E.G., I have a small warehouse that requires a 600A service. The available fault current will be low (below what a CB can handle).


Does it then just come down to what is cheaper and maybe put a MCB in a service rated panelboard?

I seldom use fused safety switches. They aren't any cheaper, and are larger than a breaker and enclosure.

Based on how people are implementing NFPA70E nowadays, I would lean towards a main device separate from the panelboard.
