Customer with a new auger that is supposed to deliver 300# per minute. It is a rather dense mixture of minerals for Dairy cattle. Short story, the recommended 2 HP is not even close and won't run the auger with the inlet gate closed without overload. A 5hp manages if the gate is run all but closed. They were warned about excessive belt tension and may have to look myself.
Customer says the auger has special flighting, or modification at the inlet side to prevent overloading. Does anyone have an idea what he is talking about? Maybe a name for that type of auger.
